Course Title: Biotechnology Business Management![]() Course no:107 Credit Hours: 730 Hours Program Length: Morning and afternoon classes, 25 hrs. per week (30 weeks). Night classes, 20 hrs. per week (37 weeks) Prerequisites: Be at least 18 years of age. The student must have high school diploma or GED and pass the entrance exam of BioHealth College to enroll for this program. Course Objectives: The Biotechnology Business Manager curriculum prepares the students to work in the bioscience industry in the areas of research and development, management of quality systems, production, clinical testing, and diagnostic work. Potential employers include biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, as well as clinical laboratories in hospitals, universities, government and independent settings. As the biotechnology industry expands more people will be needed to train new workers and manage bioscience facilities. Catalog Description: The purpose of this program is to provide the student with the theory and practical experience necessary for an entry-level position as Biotechnology Business Manager. Specific job functions may include responsibility for managing office and everyday tasks related to record keeping, evaluation of product development and manufacturing, monitoring, inventory control, inspection techniques, collection and evaluation of data. Managers also observe and document safe practices, communicate and document information, and assist in complying with government regulations. The students of this program also learn about the basics of business managements including basic accounting, economics, finance and investment and management practices. |
